My passion for glass beads started in
1998 when I met a lady who made her own jewellery. Thank goodness she showed
me how. I put together so much glass bead jewellery that in order to pay for
my habit I started selling jewellery at craft fares, in malls and at the
Lilac Festival. In 2003 I decided to take a glass
bead making class at the Alberta College of Art and Design and loved it so
much I have been making glass beads ever since. In 2006 I started taking
silver smithing classes through the Chinook Learning Centre. All of the glass beads you see here
are made by me. I use Italian glass called Moretti. The beads are kiln
annealed for life long enjoyment. I use various gauges of sterling silver to
make all of the ear wires, jump rings and I do the wire work. I incorporate
all of my beads and silver findings into jewellery made with the highest
quality sterling silver, gemstones, leather plus other beads and findings. Burnt Glass Studio believes in
supporting the community that makes us a success. We have designated
associations that we donate to which include The Canadian Cancer Society, |
